About the Center

Executive Director Dr. Cynthia Ferrell leads the Texas Success Center's work supporting the scaling of student success strategies and policies for the 50 Texas community college districts.

The Center was established at the Texas Association of Community Colleges (TACC) in 2013 through its 501(c)3 affiliate, the Texas Community College Education Initiative, to tighten the linkage between practice, research, and policy enabling Texas community colleges to benefit from national research and promising practices on how to accelerate degree completion.

Advisory Board

The Center is advised by a group of highly-regarded educational practitioners and researchers who help to set our strategic vision and direction--and, to provide practical advice on advancing the Center's efforts.

Our newest initiative, the Texas Pathways Project, focuses on building capacity for community colleges to design and implement structured academic and career pathways at scale, for all students.

The Center also houses the Board of Trustees Institute, and manages a Texas Workforce Commision grant.

TSC Staff

The Center's initiatives are funded through generous support from philanthropic partners including the Greater Texas Foundation, Teagle Foundation, T.L.L. Temple Foundation, and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

The TSC has a small and highly-dedicated staff, which endeavors to enhance staffing capacity through the use of Leadership Teams composed of expert practitioners and researchers--and, through strategic collaborations with key partners.
